Avall’s best friend is dying from a genetic disease but can’t afford to be spliced. Dr. Cutler offers to do it for free if Avall goes to a summer camp where underprivileged teens can earn treatment, dollar by dollar. It sounds too good to be true—until Avall finds herself at a sketchy camp pitted against other campers in risky challenges. Avall must find a way to earn her friend’s treatment before time runs out.
