R. C. Sautter is author of Chicago Hitman, A Confession (Ink & Quill, 2025), and author, co-author and editor of 11 other books including two of poetry: Expresslanes Through The Inevitable City and The Sound of One Hand Typing, and three on the history of presidential conventions and elections including, Inside The Wigwam: Chicago Presidential Conventions 1860-1996 (with former Chicago Alderman Edward M. His short stories have appeared in Chicago Quarterly Review, Catamaran, Evening Street Review, Deep Overstock, Evening Universe, Valiant Scribe and elsewhere. At DePaul University in Chicago, he's taught courses in philosophy, politics, history, literature and creative writing, and Ethics for 10 winters at Miami Dade College. He was the 47th president of the Society of Midland Authors (midlandauthors.org) and served two terms on the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Advisory Board. He was an Eagle Scout, enjoys sailing and walking with his wife Sally along the shores of Lake Michigan.
