No one expects kids our age to do anything more than to get good grades without getting into too much trouble—but in my group of friends—we save the world, one assignment at a time. We don’t know why we were chosen for these life and death jobs, but with one rescued alien under our belt, we were more than ready to find the group of Boy Scouts who disappeared from our small town without a trace. My name is Sam, and I led the rescue which meant going underground to face a monster you wouldn’t want to see in your worst nightmare—but I didn’t have the luxury of waking up.
